Attention: You who stopped believing exciting things were still possible for you.

THE EMBODIMENT PROBLEM

You are not too late.

You are not too far behind.

You just have not had anyone

willing to show you

what is still possible.

Why the truth won't set you free if it stays in your head.

You already know what the problem is. You have read the books, done the work, and understand yourself with more precision than most people ever will. Yet, the same pattern still finds you when the pressure is real and the people who need you are standing right in front of you. This is not a thinking problem.

This is an embodiment problem. AND it has a solution.

Why We Feel so Stuck

You are not lazy.

You are not broken.

You are not too far behind.

You just have not had anyone willing to show up beside you and say — I know exactly where you are because I have been there too. And I know the way out. Not from a book. Not from a stage. From the actual ground we are both standing on right now.

The want is still there.

You want to do something that makes you feel alive again. Something that gets you outside. Something that requires more from you than your comfort zone has been asking for.

But every time you get close to starting something stops you.

The wrong gear. The wrong fitness level. Not knowing where to begin. The quiet certainty that everyone else already knows something you do not.

So you wait.

And the want gets quieter.

Not because it went away.

Because nobody showed up to help you do something about it.

That is not a discipline problem.

That is a guide problem.

And that is exactly what this is for.

What the body Already Knows -- That Your mind keeps talking you out of.

Your body has been trying to tell you something for a long time.

It knows when you are holding back.

It knows when you are in a room but not really there.

It knows the difference between going through the motions and actually being alive.

The problem is not that you stopped wanting things.

The problem is that somewhere along the way you started listening to every reason why you couldn't have them instead of finding one person who could show you how to start.

Your body does not need more information.

It needs a first step.

Something real. Something outside. Something that asks more from you than your comfort zone has been delivering.

That is what this book builds toward.

Not a better mindset.

A body that finally remembers what it feels like to move toward something exciting.

Adventure

What your body has been carrying that nobody helped you put down.

For years you were told that if you just figured out the right plan, found the right information, understood yourself deeply enough — things would finally click.

But nobody told you that your body was never part of that conversation.

And the body is where everything actually lives.

The tension before you try something new.

The voice that says you are not ready.

The feeling that everyone else already

knows something you do not.

That is not a thinking problem.

That is weight your body has been carrying

alone for a long time.

And the reason it is still there is not because you are weak.

It is because nobody showed up and said — I will carry some of that with you while we figure out the next step together.

That is what a guide is for.

That is what this is for.

See, I was just like you until...

I was the guy who had done everything right on the outside.

Military. First responder. Endurance athlete. Always moving. Always performing. Always running toward someone else's emergency because sitting with my own was unbearable.

I understood discipline. I understood sacrifice. What I didn't understand was presence.

On August 3rd 2022 I swam directly into the snout of a 12.5 foot alligator. A drone overhead caught the entire thing. The impact. The roll. The swim to the dock. All of it.

What the footage showed was not panic.

Breath controlled under the worst possible load. Body aligned inside the jaws of a prehistoric animal. Movement deliberate when everything in the environment was chaos.

The question that followed me out of that water was always the same.

How Did You Survive?

They were asking about luck.

They were asking about strength.

They were asking about something

specific they could see in the footage but

could not name.

I could name it.

Twenty years of daily practice that my

body knew so deeply it did not need to

think.

Breath underload. Posture alignment.

confidence embodied.

But here is what the alligator actually

taught me. The tools that kept me alive in

the water were not emergency tools.

They were Tuesday morning tools.

Recovery run tools. Three in the morning

in a burning building tools.

The crisis did not build them

The ordinary days built them.

The crisis just revealed whether I had

done the work.

That is what this book explains.

Not how to survive the alligator.

How to build in the ordinary days, long

before anyone is watching. The body that

already knows what to do when life asks

more from you than what you have been

giving it.

I help people face their own alligator stories without having to wrestle a dinosaur to do it.

To prevent shattered skulls, dislocated jaws, misplaced teeth and punctured chests.

The book explains the fundamentals.

I coach the gentle greeting of discomfort in comfortable places.

Most people need a strong gentle hand.

That is all I am offering.

Introducing...

The BPC Method ™

Three fundamentals. One daily practice.

A foundation that holds when the pressure is real and the people who need you are standing right in front of you.

Breathing. Posture. Confidence.

Not as concepts — as a practice you build in your body.

Available in three formats —

read it, listen to it, or both.

Hardcover · Digital · Audiobook

How the BPC Method ™ works.

Core Element #1 - Breathing Under Load

Most people hold their breath when the pressure arrives. This is the body working against itself at the exact moment it most needs to work for itself. Breathing Under Load trains the diaphragmatic breath until it becomes the default response — not in the easy moments but in the hard ones. Six seconds of intentional breath changes the direction your body has already chosen. That is not a metaphor. That is physiology.

Core Element #2 - Posture Alignment

The body speaks a language the brain listens to. Collapsed posture signals defeat. Elevated shoulders signal threat. A compressed chest signals danger. Posture Alignment restores the natural vertical line from crown through spine — and with it the internal experience of taking up space in a room without apologizing for it. You do not align your posture because you feel stable. You align your posture until you do.

Core Element #3 - Confidence Embodiment

Real confidence is not a feeling. It is a memory. Every time the breath holds under load and the posture stays aligned under pressure the body files that experience. That filing becomes the foundation. Not borrowed. Not performed. Earned through repetition until the gap between who you appear to be and who you actually are finally closes because there is nothing left to hide behind it.

"When practiced together these three elements close the gap between who you know you are and who actually shows up when it counts." - JC La Verde

Let's start the healing process.

I have responded to thousands of emergencies.

I have helped bring the dead back to life.

What I discovered is that the people who need the most help are rarely the ones calling for it.

They are the ones quietly waiting for someone to show up before it becomes an emergency.

That is why I stopped waiting for the call

&

Making it instead.

What You'll Discover Inside

Why the body you live in has already been making decisions without you

Before the thought. Before the intention. Before the version of yourself you planned to show up as that morning — the oldest part of your nervous system has already chosen a direction. That direction was installed before you were old enough to refuse it. And until it gets trained — not understood, not processed, not talked about — it will keep choosing for you in the moments that matter most.

The version of the fatherless story nobody is writing books for

Not the dramatic version. Not the one with obvious wreckage or a headline anyone could point to. The version that turned out fine. Built the career. Kept the relationship. Did everything right — and is still standing at the door of the most important relationship of their life running on a program installed by an absence they never fully grieved because grieving it would have required admitting it hurt.

Why you have tried everything and the same pattern still finds you under pressure

You read the books. You understand attachment theory. You could give a reasonably accurate summary of how childhood wounds travel through generations. And then the pressure rises and the understanding evaporates and the body goes somewhere old and automatic before the mind has a chance to intervene. That is not failure. That is the difference between information and training. The body was never taught. This is where that changes.

You did not fail those rooms — those rooms were not built for you

The parenting class was designed for people who needed information. You do not need information. You need your nervous system retrained. The therapy room was designed for people who needed to understand their history. You understand your history. What you cannot do is stop it from making decisions for you in real time when the pressure rises. There is a room built specifically for the shape of your wound. This book is building toward it.

The real reason the morning practice does not happen — and it has nothing to do with forgetting

You remember. You wake up knowing exactly what to do. And then the first breath drops into the belly and something comes up with it that was not invited. A door that has been kept carefully closed by forward motion and noise and the relentless productivity of a life built on output. The deep breath opens that door. And the person standing in front of it is not prepared for what is on the other side. This chapter is about crossing that threshold anyway.

✅ What lonely strength actually costs the people living inside your baseline

The man who has done the individual work can function without community. He has built the internal resources to sustain himself through most of what the day delivers. And he has confused that independence with health. It is not health. It is a more sophisticated version of the same strategy. The same armor from a higher altitude. The fruit of the practice is not fully realized in isolation. It is realized in relationship. In the moment when your regulated nervous system becomes the most valuable thing in the room.

✅ Why BPC works when everything else stalled — and it starts with six seconds

A slow diaphragmatic exhale activates the parasympathetic nervous system. Heart rate slows. Shoulders drop. Jaw unclenches. The flood of stress hormones preparing you to fight or flee begins to recede. This takes approximately six seconds. Six seconds of intentional breath changes the direction your body has already chosen. That is not a metaphor. That is physiology. And it is available to every person on earth regardless of their history, their diagnosis, or how many times they have tried something else and watched it fail.

✅ The gap between who you appear to be and who you actually are — and what finally closes it

Not a better morning routine. Not another framework to master or insight to integrate or book to finish. Not willpower applied to a problem that has never once responded to willpower. The gap closes when the body is trained — through repetition, through presence, through the accumulated memory of having stayed regulated when everything was pushing toward reaction — until the performance is no longer required because there is nothing left to hide behind it.

Is This Right For You?

This is for you if:

✅ You have been waiting for the right moment to start doing something that actually excites you — and that moment keeps not arriving.

✅ You want to get outside, try new things, and be around people who are moving toward something real — but something keeps stopping you before you start.

✅ You have tried to motivate yourself alone and discovered that motivation without a guide just becomes another thing you feel bad about not finishing.

✅ You are tired of consuming information about living better and ready to actually go do something about it.

✅ You want someone in your corner who is not ahead of you on a highlight reel but beside you on the actual path.

✅ You are ready to take one step outside your comfort zone with someone who will not let you quit and will not make you feel small for starting where you are.

✅ You believe that the life you actually want is still available to you — you just have not had the right guide yet.

This is NOT for those who:

❌ Believe the problem is everyone around them and not what is running inside them

❌ Want inspiration without practice

❌ Want to be told what they already know

❌ Are looking for a quick fix

❌ Are not willing to take one step outside their comfort zone

❌ Want someone to fix them without showing up for themselves

(FAQs)

Q1: What is the Call to Base Camp and what happens on that call?

A1: It is a single conversation between two people finding out if the walk makes sense together. You tell me where you are. I tell you honestly whether I think I can help. If the answer is yes we build something together in the 90 day container — one on one, practice based, presence required. If the answer is no I will tell you that too and point you toward whatever I genuinely believe will serve you better. No script. No pressure. No performance. Just an honest conversation.

Q2: How is this different from therapy or the other things I have already tried?

A2: Therapy addresses the narrative. This addresses the nervous system. Most people who find their way to this work already understand their history with impressive precision. What they cannot do is stop that history from making decisions for them in real time when the pressure rises. This work trains the body not just the mind. The body is where the wound actually lives. That is where the correction has to happen.

Q3: Is the book enough to get started?

A3: Yes. The book is the road. It gives you the framework, the language, and the first practices. Some people read it and know immediately they want to go deeper. Others need the book to work on them for a while first. Both are fine. The Call to Base Camp will be there when you are ready. Start with the book.

Q4: What does the 90 day coaching actually look like?

A4: It starts with a movement evaluation — a video of you walking, a basic medical history, a nutritional picture. From there we build a practice specific to your body and your history. Weekly calls. Movement videos between sessions. Real time correction. Real conversation. The practice builds from breath to posture to confidence to the deeper work that no technique alone can reach. Ninety days of showing up. That is the whole structure.

Q5: I have never done anything like this before. Where do I actually start?

A5: You start exactly where you are. No prior experience required. No fitness level required. No special gear required. The book is the first step. It will tell you everything you need to know before we ever speak. Read it. Then when you are ready — the Call to Base Camp is open. That is the whole path. One step at a time.

The Author

For the one who made it this far.

This photo was taken in Phuket Thailand.

I was sitting in a room full of beautiful things and fake ones thinking about the people I actually wanted to reach.

Not the ones drawn in by engineered perfection. Not the ones who needed everything polished before they would trust it.

The ones who wanted someone real.

Someone who values the mess. Who has lived inside it. Who is not standing on the other side of a highlight reel pretending the road here was clean.

This book is my first real step into professional coaching. Not the shiny version. The actual version.

If you made it to the bottom of this page you are probably not looking for shiny either.

That is exactly who I built this for.

The Call to Base Camp is here.

It is still open.
